One thing I have never understood is why some people refuse to try local food when they visit a new place. While I completely understand why most people don’t want to eat bizarre foods like AndrewZimmern , it just doesn’t make sense to me why they wouldn’t want to try delicious local food that is one hundred percent sanitary and well-prepared.
If you are going to Puerto Rico, you owe it to yourself to try Caribbean food while you are there. Ideally, you will try Caribbean food at several different restaurants, because it will show you just how delicious this type of food is. To reassure you and make you feel confident about your dining decisions, here are several places where you can count on getting high quality Caribbean food without any kind of problems:
La Estacion, Fajardo: Open until eleven each night, not only is the food here absolutely delicious, but it is priced very reasonably. The reason that the food here is so delicious is because all of the meat and fish they serve is cooked over a charcoal flame, which gives it a level of flavor that is hard to match.
Pasion por el Fogon, Fajardo: Ask anyone who has eaten here before, and chances are that they will tell you that it is difficult to find a place in Puerto that serves more delicious food than here. If you aren’t sure what to order, you can’t go wrong with the surf and turf.
Duffy’s, Isla de Vieques: Great music, an excellent view and delicious food make this a great choice for lunch or dinner any day of the week.
