The biggest reason why I think it’s a great idea to get a car rental in Puerto Rico is because of the freedom it will provide you with during your trip. As long as you have a rental car, you can literally do anything you want while you are in Puerto Rico. Regardless of what you decide you want to do, or where you want to go to see something, you will be able to get there by using your rental.

Another big reason why I gave you this recommendation is because of the affordable nature of rental cars. You can use the Internet to reserve one at a really low price, so there’s honestly no reason for you not to take advantage of this and get one before your trip begins.

If the idea of spending three weeks (or even longer) in Puerto Rico sounds appealing, you may be surprised that you can actually afford this type of trip. While it may sound quite expensive to take this type of trip, it is actually a lot more affordable than you may realize.

The reason that I know it doesn’t cost as much as most people think to take this type of trip is because I went to Puerto Rico for three weeks earlier this year. At the beginning of the year, I told my husband that I wanted to take a really great trip at some point during the year. We are both quite busy, and simply don’t get to spend as much time together as we would like.

A couple of months later, when my husband asked if I would like to take a three week trip to Puerto Rico, my first response was “Really?” He told me that he was serious, and had found a very affordable package online that included a hotel, rental car and flight. We booked the package, and a couple of months later, took off for a wonderful three week trip to Puerto Rico.

Although you probably aren’t at that point yet (since the holidays gave us all a nice break and the New Year is just getting under way), there will probably come a time at some point during this year when you have accumulated so much stress on your shoulders that you no longer feel like you can handle it. I knew this feeling quite well, because it was only about eight months ago when I was feeling that exact same way. I honestly didn’t know what I was going to do to get my stress down and get myself back on track, so I decided to do something that I wasn’t completely sure would work; I went away.

When my stress hit this unmanageable level, I fired up my computer one day at work, and started looking through all of the travel deals that were available. Like just about everyone I know, I am not happy with the way that 2008 turned out. The reason that this was such a disappointing year was because regardless of how hard all of us worked, as a result of the struggling economy, just about everyone took hits to their personal wealth. On top of that, so many people lost their jobs, and even if you didn’t personally find yourself in this situation, knowing multiple people who are struggling will not do much to lift your spirits.

Although it wasn’t easy, we all made it through 2008, and that is why I am so optimistic about this year. We all proved that we can make it through the hardest of times, and I think it is this exact spirit that will get us back to a good place.

To help focus myself for this year, I am actually taking a trip to Puerto Rico before the end of January. I think that by clearing my head, I will be able to set myself up for a very successful year.
